A New Immersive Rolex Boutique in the Heart of Amsterdam

Located on P.C. Hooftstraat, one of Amsterdam’s most prestigious luxury shopping destinations, the new Rolex boutique is the result of a close collaboration between Rolex and BBA Studio.
Conceived as a continuous and immersive architectural experience, the exclusive retail space unfolds across four levels, creating a seamless dialogue between architecture, materiality, and brand identity.
At the heart of the project is the staircase, designed not only as a functional connection but as a true spatial device capable of visually linking all four floors of the boutique. Through a careful volumetric composition, the staircase establishes a constant and sinuous dialogue between the different levels, amplifying the perception of space and reinforcing a unified reading of the entire intervention.
Meticulous attention to interior design, the recalibration of floor-to-floor proportions, and the complete integration of technical elements have resulted in a unique and fully immersive environment. The outcome is a luminous and refined space characterized by an extraordinary glazed roof which, from the mezzanine level, allows visitors to admire the trees of the adjacent garden while maintaining a direct visual connection with the entrance floor below.
The basement level, open to the mezzanine and enhanced by the natural light filtering through the glazed roof above, hosts one of the project’s most iconic features: a striking fluted Verde Alpi marble wall, at the base of which sits a large watchbar dedicated to the presentation of the precious Rolex watch collections. Completing the experience is a sophisticated lounge area served by the Rolex bar, conceived as a welcoming and convivial setting.
Crowning the interior intervention, the façade balances the narrative of the internal spaces with a bold and iconic architectural presence. The elevation is defined by a fluted Verde Alpi marble surface that reinterprets the traditional Dutch brickwork, framed within a rigorous perimeter structure — a design gesture intended to evoke the sensation of entering a precious box, crossing a gateway into the world of Rolex.
The architectural approach enhances the original volumetric qualities of the space, reinterpreting the classic finishes and material codes of the Rolex universe through a contemporary lens. Premium materials, balanced proportions, and a clean, measured architectural language define an elegant environment fully aligned with the identity and enduring values of the Maison.
